Kalam dosnt need debunking. Is a non argument. neither premise can be justified. An argument that isnt sound is just someone saying stuff. Even if you naively accept premise one, it is then a fallacy of composition

What he seems to be missing is that the second part of the argument is meaningless if the first part is fallacious.

It’s like if I said 2+2=5 and people accepted and built all of math around this core idea. Now later we would realize that 2+2 isn’t equal to 5 but to 4. This means that everything built off of 2+2=5 needs to be re-examined and that most of it is probably wrong.

What’s ironic to me is that often the argument that a theist presents isn’t what convinced them of gods existence. Craig has believed in god since he was a child so I don’t understand why he would expect us to be convinced by the Kalam, when he doesn’t even know if he himself would’ve been convinced by it before he became a believer.

Once, centuries ago, the questions were about what is lightning, earthquakes, droughts, shooting stars, etc. Why, and what made those things happen? With no good response available, "god" was proclaimed to be the answer. Now all of that has been reduced to, "if the universe had a beginning, couldn't a god have been responsible?"
