Dude i watched this video like 3 times. I just can't get enough of that beautiful sound. Your car is wicked bro. I got a 2000 z3 with the 2.5 and couldn't even put on a cold air intake without having to retune it so it wouldn't throw a code. Couldn't even imagine the trouble id get my self into if my car was like yours. I love those seats too you got in it.

Ive had my z3 for 5 years and i never thought it would sound so good turbo

Overall, I spent around $5K. $1K for the turbo, $1K for the tune, and $3k for everything else (Radiator/Exhaust I did all the labor myself, except for the tune.

Thank you! I got my car tuned remotely at Technica Motorsports (YouTube won't allow me to put links here, so you'll have to do a Google search on them). The car runs beautifully and I don't get any check engine lights. The only lights I have are the restraining system and ABS, which is because I removed the traction control and put in the aftermarket seats. The seats are Corbeau FX1 and they're very comfortable. I have to connect a seat bypass to get rid of the restraining system light.

The clutch holds strong! Still no problems with it. It's about half the price of the bigger brands too.

I like my Borg Warner S256. There is not much lag, turbo spools at around 2, 500 RPM and kicks in fully at 4K RPM.

I have a 2000 Z3 2.8 and definitely going turbo, looking forward to results like these, your car sounds great and it looks oodles of fun, congratulations on your build. From a guy currently doing an E30. :)

Thanks! If you go turbo, the best thing to do is to piece it together yourself and do it slowly (Purchase each part every week). That way, you get to pick out the best parts and it won't break your bank account all at once! I love the E30's!

This is all on the stock M52 2.8L engine. I don't plan on running any more boost or make more power. I'm already satisfied with the power that it's making and 450 HP in a small Z3 is plenty to boot around town.

This is on a stock motor. I didn't lower the compression. The rear subframe is not reinforced. The engine still runs strong, but I think I may have broken an engine mount because the shifter shakes when I accelerate. I'll take a look into it when I have more time. I just purchased an NSX so now I have 2 projects to work on. Once I get it fixed, I'll post more videos.

I just updated the information in the video with a link to my Car Domain account. That shows all of the specifics.

All us Z3 owners have been asking and got NO answer....

How much did you put into the whole kit, Parts only?

Most definitely! The car is actually down right now. A drunk driver ran into while it was parked. So once it is up and running again, I'll be sure to come out.

Was this 450 to the wheel or crank? Seems like the perfect amount of power. Not overkill but certainly not slow 👌🏽

450 at the crank (~380 RWHP). I put together everything and welded the exhaust system, which is just a straight pipe. I also have the M50 manifold and a custom tune from Technica. I'm also running 2 PSI more and it's a big turbo. But, I'll say no more until I get the dyno chart. Stay tuned!

I haven't done a 0-60mph check yet, since my clutch is slipping. Once I get the new clutch in, I will take some measurements. It's pretty fast off the line :)

My friend, I have the 3.0 2002 z3 and was looking to install a turbo. I must say, your z3 sounds bloody amazing and looks like it can't half shift. Do you know what the revised 0-60mph is? Mine does it in around 5.5 seconds so yours must be damn near supercar stats.
