I will check back in a week, month, 3 months, 6 months, and a year from now.
Let's see how much the colors hold up or fade over time.

"acrylic, yuck"
This is actually a really cool experiment! Can't wait to see the results

I love this text! I also caught that you started reading The Hobbit at the end. Nothing like reading The Hobbit in a Hobbit Hole!

My great grandmother loved to paint
she was amazing at it actually, but once she got older she started losing her eyesight.
then she became blind, so she wasn’t able to pursue art anymore. my mom found a watercolor pallet she used to use and while it doesn’t have a-lot of color selections, i hold it dear with my heart ♥️

Everytime he said "actylic yuck", myself and my acrylic paints took that personally.

I did this for a project in high school and just waiting for a whole day made a big difference on some materials and/or brands. Definitely a good way to check your material and learn!

Someone needs to give Scott a reward for creativity ! Like this is an amazing idea and the fact that you can capture it in a fun 60 sec video = 🤯

Thanks for doing the testing! It's the kind of thing I'd do if I was staying here, but my move is imminent. Looking forward to the results.

Also: "acrylics, yuck!" continues to make me giggle.

You always give me illusions of grandeur, I think that if I get a bunch of things to paint and practice, ill be good, but I have tried time and time again, and failed, but watching your videos makes me feel like I could

Try doing a light fastness test again with just reds/ pinks. Especially Alizerian crimson is problematic. I found DR. PH Martine's watercolor dyes particularly difficult. Love your videos I use your videos in my high-school art classroom.

you should also paint them again at the end of the experiment to compare the fresh out of the bottle shade

This is so cool that you are doing the test for us and taking us along with the other examples

This is awesome. I thought I was going to have to wait a year but voici!
It is important to note, also that different colors have different fastnesses and that typically "pigmented" is the safest bet

As a book and paper conservator, it’s really cool to see an artist thinking about this problem! Thank you for conducting this experiment. I suspect you will find that the media which are made with pigment for the colorant rather than dyes will hold up much better (dyes are notoriously fugitive!)
