The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) regulates the offering and provision of consumer financial products or services under the federal consumer financial laws and educates and empowers consumers to make better informed financial decisions. This webinar will be presented by CFPB’s Office of Servicemember Affairs and the Office for Older Americans in partnership with NDAA’s Veterans Committee. First, it will include an overview of tools and resources to help protect military consumers, along with a briefing on Federal consumer protection laws that apply exclusively to the troops and their families such as the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act and the Military Lending Act. Next, there will be a discussion of Elder Fraud Prevention and Response Networks: A guide to mobilizing or sustaining a collaborative partnership that works to prevent and respond to elder financial exploitation.
