Personally, I'd prefer Homa since I can use it on EVERY polearm user, I just need to learn animation cancelling to compensate for c1 imo

The way I see it, unless you have guaranteed summons to get staff of homa you should get c1. Because it’s way easier to get and you have a better chance of pulled 2 hu taos in 200 summons then 1 homa

C1 is good, and I think her c1 is one of the best/worthy cons u have to get, and for mobile user this is really helpful. Meanwhile for PC user, managing stamina, imo, is not that hard and better to pull homa instead. After all, things come back to how is our gameplay, so it's ourself to decide, enjoy the gameplay!

3:30 This is literrally me, I chose C0 and R1 Homa in her first banner and got used to jump cancels so much to the point that I can do it without thinking about it. I rarely get stamina issues because after her E ends, the party rotation is enough to fill her stamina to full unless I have to chase an enemy from a distance(e.g. Mirror Maiden teleport) that requires some dashes. I will still roll on her banner mainly because of Thoma, not because for C1.

Im a whale Hu tao main since her release ( C6 + R5 homa ). I suggest go for C1, Homa is good but it's not phenomenally good, like Sure it is a great stat stick but the polearm section has ton of good polearms to use for her like Dragon's bane for vape hu tao, deathmatch, Blackcliff, and all the 5 stars are great for her.

my personal ratings for your options that is not homa.

Dragon's bane - Vape hu tao ( SOLID 5 )
Deathmatch - great ( R1 Decent 3 - R5 is Strong 5 )
BlackCliff - ( 4 )
Vortex ( Strong 4 because she doesnt benefit much from atk% but you want your hu tao shielded anyways so its good)
PJWS and Spine are 5 because they're such a good stack stick to her.


most of these weapons only fall about 10% - 20% damage output because some are situational but its nothing compared to the QoL that you will be getting with C1.

Remember QoL > Damage this is Pve game. the reason why characters like zhongli and venti are so good is not because of theyre damage but the utility they provide.

I consider myself very fortunate to have acquired Staff of Homa in 30 pulls back then when I was f2p and the weapon banner had the old system which caused Tectone and OkCode to get 1 million duplicates of the weapon they didn't want before getting even 1 copy of their target weapon. Tectone has a throne made of wgs probably stored in his basement or garage.

I love how you also indirectly talked about the option C0 and no Homa (3:21). Means for me as a pure F2P I will eventually reach a point where the artifacts of my Hu Tao, Xingqiu, etc. will be so stacked that can ignore C0 or Homa entirely

If you have zero 5* pole-arms, and you don't mind a little bit harder animation cancels, I'd say go for homa.
I really think the fact that homa can be given to other characters is a big deal.
I'm going to try going for both, but because of the nature of the weapon banner (which doesn't completely carry "pity"), I'll go HuTao first, then Homa, and then C1.

Her rerun is so unique that you also wanna pull for her weapon as well. I have c0 hu tao and I am fully commited to pull for Homa. I have mastered her dash-jump attk and I think it's not that necessary to get her c1. I am likely that I wouldn't get Thoma as well. If by any chance of luck getting Homa in the first pity, then I'd probably reconsider whether if I pull her or not, since my pity is guaranteed.

First time Hu Tao's banner came, i skipped her and just rolled for Homa. Best decision ever.

I'll be pulling C0 Thoma, which means with the RNG of 4*s, I'll be getting a constellation for my Hu Tao.
