Based on the bestselling novel by Thomas Perry, “The Old Man” centers on Dan Chase who absconded from the CIA decades ago and has been living off the grid since. When an assassin arrives and tries to take Chase out, the old operative learns that to ensure his future he now must reconcile his past. With Dan Chase flushed out of hiding, the FBI’s Assistant Director for Counterintelligence Harold Harper is called on to hunt him down because of his complicated past with the rogue fugitive.

When Chase proves to be more difficult to apprehend than the authorities expected, a highly trained special ops contractor is sent to pursue him as well. While on the run, Chase rents a room from Zoe McDonald who draws on reserves she never knew she had in order to survive the day when she learns the truth about her new tenant.

This was Alia Shawkat’s episode, hands down. A real standout episode and more importantly, her standout performance especially the arguments she had with Harold Harper (John Lithgow) in the scenes throughout.

Acting in this series is top notch especially by the main characters. John Lithgow's scene in the most recent episode was tough to watch. Feeling so betrayed by Emily but yet doesn't have to heart to give her up to save himself. Getting the viewer to be so emotionally invested in these characters is what separates the good shows and good actors from the mediocre ones and I'm all in on this show and characters.

I feel like I missed something. I understood that Harold figured out Angela was hiding something from him, but when he leap to figuring out she was Emily?

Best actress I have seen in a lomg time. Does not fit any cliché, not the classical beauty, a super powerful actress - whereas she is lucky playing off John Lithgow and Jeff Bridges.

Wow. What a waste of two of the best talents out there. This boring dialogue is straight out of the virtue signal bible. Identity politics and old men on thousand dollar suits that never show dirt.
