One thing that he didn't discuss and is very important to a lot of people, is HD picture quality. Some people might not care about that, but many people do. The word is that of the two, Direct TV has the best picture quality. Too bad this guy didn't cover that.

Thats an Unbiased review all I knew just updated my knowledge base in 4 minutes... nice.. I still prefer OTA since satellite and cable new scheme requires boxes.. Jaja back in the day the cable card on the tv took care of that... if you bring it back save 500k of the profits to me..

I did not want to pay nearly 150 a month any longer, was happy to just stream, I called to close my account and directv offered to drop my bill to $37 a month to stay on as a customer and not having to sign up for a contract, just staying month to month and locked in at the price for at least 2018, That is less than I pay on my cell phone service so, Ya Ill keep it for a while.

Another comparison should be for RV customers. Dish is the only one that can provide HD viewing using the popular dome antennas that RVers like to mount on top of their RV. DirecTV broadcasts are only available in SD when using a dome. There is an antenna you can mount that will get you HD from DirecTV but the cost of the equipment alone will run you upwards of $1500 and it's a pretty large monster to put on top of an RV.

Have to wonder though. Being Dish channels aren't on the same satellite. If you go to another channel, your sat moves every time. Wearing out your dish much quicker than one that moves once, like Direct tv. Because it's channels are all on one sat. I payed $2800 for my In motion Sat. And I wonder if that doesn't fall into play here somewhere? I can't see how direct isn't better for that reason alone. When you put that much money into something. And the less it's used, the longer it lasts.

I love dish satelite television because thier equipment is great thier customer service is great the remote control is great everything at dish satelite television is 100% good.

I disagree! I have had both, and I loved Dish's picture quality better. Our tv had to be put on the highest brightness setting rather it was already bright enough when we had dish. Also We go more channels with the Dish. I have dirctv now and thinking about switching back because to the price and that my mother misses certain channels that are in a higher package with directv. For the price that they want for channels we have we could be having almost double the channels, plus I miss the Angelone and Angletwo channels. Programs on those channels have to be watched on the streaming tv like Roku or firetv, because directv does not carry these channels. It is bad when you have to pay nearly 200.00 a month just to get a package with WGN in the line up. WE got that channel when we paid around 75 -80 dollars every two months.

I have had att uverse for 5 years. Just switched to dish. 3 days later I'm switching to direct. The hd quality sucks compared to att. Friends have direct and the quality is much better. Don't care about record tv I want a good clear pic. Dish doesn't do it for me.

Direct tv provides many good services like package bundling, advanced technology, nfl sunday ticket at no extra cost which I guess no other providers can provide.Dish on the other hand is very bad at services they don't even care about your problems plus they don't provide you the packages according to you and no other additional benefits. So for me directv is surey much better than dish.

I was told that since we supposedly have all these satellites in the air that I would not have signal loss. It is barely raining here in louisiana and have signal loss. These satellites are some make belive crap .

for 75 dollars a month direct tv gives me 67 shopping channels I don't watch or want, 25 religious channels I never watch, 1 weather channel-don't need, 12-to-be-announced channels that never show a picture, 14 fake news channels which 13 has the same news misinformation, 5 Hispanic channels I don't speak, 13 local channels that show mostly advertisements and infomercials, 4 sports channels and 33 movie-entertainment channels that take turns re-running low grade movies I see every month. the FCC and FTC are in the pockets of the corporations and if it don't kill, stealing and selling nothing-tv is perfectly acceptable to the govern u men who gets contributions and safety net jobs for letting corporations like direct tv rip off the consumer. do u self a favor, save money and time by getting an analog antenna before the government outlaw that to so direct tv can control all u see.

Dishnetwork sucks! Lost signal in the middle of watching some very interesting shows that I don't ever want to miss a single part. Every time that happens. I get on YouTube to finish the show in words. What a shame! What am I paying for when I can't even finish a single show without interruption. Am transferring service soon.
