The Hocking Hills / Old Man's Cave State Park is Ohio's hidden gem ! Just a short drive from my home in Columbus . As teens we spent many a times partying there. If you ever make it for a Buckeyes game it's more than worth the drive . Fall is best right before the leaves drop and the many waterfalls are flowing .

Dick Clark had a home built like that I looked it up, his home mimicked the Flintstones home.

It was just over $300, 000 to build, but as a part time rental it generates up to $640, 000 per year.

There’s a really unique A frame house on YouTube I love. The very top is the bedroom and it has huge windows top to bottom and at night you just see the stars

Since it's in Ohio, the temperature is probably around 50 to 55 F. Temperatures in caves usually stay the same year round.

The state permitting for this must have been outrageous!
You must have to get seismic studies, penetration, and samples to understand if it is stable regardless of if it looks stable.

I live about 45 minutes from Hocking Hills and had no clue that someone build a house in a cave

I live in Ohio and have been to Hocking Hills, which is a beautiful state park; however, I have never heard about this cave house.

If this is on Air B&B, I want to spend a night there

Of course, the question I always ask about amazing projects like this is .... where did you get all the money for this?

I’ve stayed in a few similar properties at Hocking Hills - they are surprisingly affordable! Not this one though haha it’s $750+ per night

They could make that $200 thousand back in 3 years. Brilliant

Its besutiful! Still my dream home is a decommissioned military mission silo. Those made into a home is my thing! I just like the look and how it would feel better. Unless I win that big lottery I'm going to be where I'm at now. At least I own the land and my home! One of the best feeling I've had was to make that last payment! I may live next to a huge chicken farm, but from my home I can only see my folks house and its on the other end of the property. My husband built us a nice patio with a fire pit thats nice unless the wind blows wrong!
