Having put IKEA furniture together for a long time I have to say IKEA are amazing with how they continue to improve the way you put their furniture together.

I was pretty disappointed that my IKEA lists these kallax shelves as out of stock. So today I took a drive down there to see what they have and, tada! They're actually in stock! I'm super happy! Thanks for this video about them.

That is one of my favorite units that Ikea puts out. You can set it up vertically or horizontally and they come with attachments to screw them to the wall so that they don't fall over. I've used the doors and a variety of baskets and other "stuff" holders, all of which keep them looking neat. They are also very easy to clean. You can alter the color by painting with chalk paint or by using wall paper. I've seen them used as a bed base (somewhere on YT there is a great video on how to do that) with plenty of storage. I found them easy as pie to put together - and I have arthritis in both hands. I do like the idea of those drawers.

Can you explain how you were able to install the drawers all next to each other? When I tried to do so, the screws are too long and wouldn't allow the drawer unit to lay flush again the cubby.

Kallax units are the best. I have a 2x4 horizontally in my living room with the TV on top, and I have have a 2x4 standing up in my bathroom, with a 2x2 on top but I had to remove on of the end panels and just balance it -- to wedge it in, I have a piece of wood on top to hold it down from the ceiling. They're simply amazing, but I wish they came with a one deep/tall drawer option because the two drawers have short sides.

I feel the most important information is that IKEA does not use Philips screws, but Pozidriv. You will have far better results with Pozidriv drivers.

I want to know, if I mount to the wall, will the mounting hardware impede the inserts?

I have the same units, I have a few ikea storage boxes the come with these unit but like to know if I can add the kallax doors with the storage I have already got, without the extra inserts.

Watch out Ikea tips over
If you have kids
Ikea furniture falls apart
I would use wood glue and brackets so it last longer
Some one said Ikea has carboard in the middle
Like it's tables but you would have to cut it in half to see

Would you happen to know if it's possible to like seperate each square or some other way to adjust the shelf to make it smaller in any way? I have a space that my mother didnt measure before buying the shelf and it's just a tiny bit too wide to fit in the closet she wants it in. Thanks in advance for any suggestions it's a kallas 30 by 30 inch 4 cube square shelf btw
