Is a remapped 700hp RWD 5.5L BiTurbo too much for a Dad Car? How useable is a Mercedes Benz W212 E63 as a family Car?

I am a 28 years old single and I still find joy in watching and waiting for your uploads. you don't have to be a parent to see the value or to be entertained by your content really! Keep it up 👏

I've had my 2012 W204 C63 AMG for over 2yrs and the driving experience is incredible but owning a car that regularly gets recognition by random ppl while driving is a great feeling every time! #giveusarev 😅

An AMG from the best years of the brand. Great video, great to see other dads out there and their wonderful toys 😍

I am the proud owner of a 2015 E63 Wagon, which is my daily driver.
It too has had a stage 1 remap and has been tested at 660 BHP with a peak 1100 Nm of torque.
It is such a capable, comfortable and practical machine it almost makes my Jaguar F Type SVR redundant performance wise .... But not quite.
I would certainly recommend one, but they cannot be run on a shoestring budget.
I agree, 19 MPG is average for this car, though over the last 3, 700 miles it has averaged only 15.5 MPG.
Servicing is reasonable for this kind of car, mines due a B Service, a gearbox oil change (every 3 years) and brake fluid change which has been booked with Mercedes and quoted at £870, which I think is fair.
Only issue I have had so far is a coil pack failing, a £93 part from Mercedes and a few minutes to fit.
I do run it in aftermarket wheels with Michelin PS4 tyres as the original wheels are a little soft and buckle easily.
All in all a fantastic car!

Said it before and I'll say it again. The CLK55. Big in the back. Massive boot. V8 greatness.
Reliable. Reasonable running costs.

I have a 2014 but the 4matic one. It is absolutly mental to drive. But i also got a 2004 E55 with the supercharged 5.5 V8...Thats a total different car to drive...thats also a car you have to respect, specialy in the rain...if not you're gonna need to change your underwear after the first corner ;) You should try one of those...they should be under 10k atm

I don’t know if you’re a mind reader but was chatting with a friend, who is a fellow Petrolhead Papa, at a picnic in the park today whilst our Pickles played and we were talking about these exact Mercs as his next! Going to be linking him to this but suspect he’s probs watched it already 🤣 The engine note is the signature piece. Hard to find a more savage sounding V8 this side of the big Pond. Love these videos cause the level of excitement felt is as if we’re sat in the passenger seat 😂 I know I couldn’t trust myself to own something like this. I need Quattro or X Drive if I was to buy something similar 😅

I’m convinced this is the perfect dad car as your sweet daughter is blissfully catching a nice midday snooze whilst you pelt it down the carriageway 😂🔥

Look at you! 20k+ views in less than a day! Keep up the good work! These are great dadcars, 4 door with tremendous engine power. I’d love to see an Audi a/s/rs7 for review

AMG's are a fantastic value - earlier this year I picked up a 2010 S63AMG loaded out with both rear exec packs and entertainment - at about the same price point. Absolutely fantastic machine.

Your little girl was fast asleep. Looks like she finds the sound of a brutal AMG soothing and relaxing to snooze. Great car and fabulous sounds! I have a 2012 W212 E350 but not a V8. I still love driving my saloon but wish I had that growl.

Hi Ben. Hope your doing good.
That's one cool Mercedes. I love the leather dashboard, the analog dash and especially the analog clock.
I love the video.
Stay safe and take care.

I'm 24, I don't need one of these, but for some reason the CLS 63 shooting brake is something I'm finding really appealing at the moment, especially coming from a little modified pocket rocket manual M240i

I love how you use family items for boot space. I know it’s the point of the channel but makes a nice change from standard luggage

Can you do a video of F10 M5 LCI. They are similar price range to E63. I just sold my F10 M5 few months ago and may look to buy a E63 Facelift next year

I have a 16 E63s AMG (4Matic) as my daily driver and 911 T as the fun car. This car is FANTASTIC, however has some quirks, air suspension on rear of car be prepared for annoying quirks with that when it gets cold out almost always is the valve block easy fix. Solid engine but you need to maintain it, spark plugs at 50k miles (diy if you’re a car person or 700 USD), trans flush at 35k miles (550 USd). Oil change interval is 10k I change every 5-6500miles easy to change yourself you can extract it even tho it says to change from below I’ve tested both ways extraction works the same. Front driver side lower control arms will always go bad unless you buy aftermarket extremely easy diy and parts are cheap. Engine mounts are susceptible to failure if cars driven hard and they’re old I replaced those (1900). Small little easy to change sensors on front of engine should be replaced to prevent oil leaking into Ecu very easy change 100bucks. Fantastic car. You can’t find anything like it for the price point.
