In this tutorial I explain how you can protect your wordpress website against brute force attacks with a free plugin.

In a brute force attack, many different combinations of login details are used to log in to your website. Hackers do this with computers that enter high numbers of combinations in microseconds. This way it can be fairly easy for hackers to hack into a website.

By default, you can make numerous login attempts for WordPress websites after entering an incorrect password. That is not useful because your website is more vulnerable to brute force attacks.

Fortunately, there is a free plugin that you can download and activate within seconds that ensures that a maximum of 3 login attempts can be made. If an incorrect password is then entered again, the IP address will be temporarily blocked. If after the period from the same IP address 3 incorrect combinations are entered again, the IP address will be blocked again for a longer period. The more often wrong combinations are entered, the longer the IP address is blocked.

Watch the tutorial where I show you exactly how to download and install the plugin to secure your website against hackers and brute force attacks.
