pretty awesome! looking into building me a drone after getting to fly a phantom 4 today. ive got a few questions, first off does that gimbal move? do you get live video feed from a go pro hooked to it ? how do you program a remote to work with your drone ? it has GPS so is that something you can set way points for through a app on your phone or is it just for RTH (return to home) purposes ?

I bought a kit long ago with 2830 motors and 6S ESCs. Is it powerful enough to lift a Samsung NX300 camera with 3 axis gimbal with 14.8V 12000mah power? If not, will two additional motors in a dual quadcopter configuration do the job? Thanks

I haven't purchased my first drone yet, I am still researching.
I know I want to do photography and videography eventually though.
I'm curious about modding drones.
I've noticed a lot of models, and they all have good points and bad points.
The 3 areas that I have noticed that I am interested in modding are...Remote distance, FPV transmission distance, Flying time, and Weight bearing ability.
It seems like swapping radios, batteries, and possibly props, and motors would accomplish these, but I'm just learning.
Can these things be done?

My kit bought in 2014 had 4s capable 2830 motors but 3s ESCs and XT60 connector. I had to replace it and will complete building just a few days before the drone ban here. It will only hover indoors and then I will scrap it as I can't afford to get a license above 2kg. Will just keep the electrical parts.

Thanks for posting all of this. I actually have had all of the parts except the gimbal, with the best of intentions for about a year and a half. My hold up is this: I do not understand how to program the crazy radio. Know anything about the Futaba FAAST T7C 2.4GHz Radio? I have the the mating receiver and I have the NAZA Lite program, but cannot fathom how to input and save the the servo instructions. You apparently need a degree from MIT to understand the (extremely poor -- assumes too much prior knowledge) instructions. Sure wish somebody could explain the radio.

What size and KV are those motors on your hex ?
I will be using 2212 1400kv, also using 2208 1500kv on the Totem Q250
So builds this month and 2 in March.
Devo 7e TX, so RX701 on all 4.

I have acquired one of these and know absolutely nothing about drones. I'm going to try to use this to take it apart and put it back together.

How long was the battery duration? Also, you can expand battery for example to the 10000Mah for longer flights :)
