This video is to help MJP dancers and other Irish Dancers learn how to do the traditional set King of the Fairies which is in Grade Exam 11. First I show you how to do the lead around slowly on the Right foot, facing away from the camera, followed by the second part (set) of the dance.

Next I show you the whole dance to music so you can learn how it fits.

The second half of the video breaks down and explains all the difficult tricks or the things you should know when performing this dance such as: Recurring Tricks, Boxes (Left and Right), Drum into Twist, and how to do Drop Drums. I hope this video helps you to learn this dance and/or to prepare for your grade exam 11!

Happy Practicing and Good Luck!

I am working on learning this piece for mandolin, and learning that it was paired with a specific dance has really helped my understanding of the song and how it needs to be played. The full dance + music has been really helpful!

I know of a family member, on my mother's side that actually played the melodeon for the little people and danced with them in the haunted glen, had anyone else danced with the goodfolk etc..
