Political parties gear up for potential Canadian federal election call

Global News has learned from multiple federal sources that Canada's next election will be called soon, ending months of speculation.

Conservative Leader Erin O'Toole is blasting Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who is hoping his Liberal government will shift from a minority to a majority. O'Toole says it isn't safe to hold an election during the pandemic, despite the fact that provinces have successfully done so.
