Senator Sanders, like FDR who came to the fore to lead us out of the Great Depression, and like Lincoln who came forward as a leader in face of the impending Civil War, you are the leader of our time, the one pointing out that the biggest danger we face as a nation is the drift toward oligarchy. This proposed Republican tax bill is a powerful symbol of that dangerous drift, and your voice is the one powerfully responding to a looming danger which, however, still seems benign to too many Americans who have not yet fully felt its lethal impact.

Age in your case seems to have produced wisdom and preserved strength. While your opponents rant against your "socialism", many of those involved in this criticism of you would not want to see their Social Security or Medicare benefits curtailed in any way, failing to understand the "socialist' aspect of those government programs.
