Today I tested the new 2nd generation Railjet from Feldkirch to Linz on its test trip as an Intercity. I rode with this train on April 1st as an Easter amplifier. It is now used as scheduled between Munich Bologna and Munich Innsbruck. I didn't pay anything for the ticket because I had a climate ticket with a 1 class surcharge and the busniess class was approved for 1 class because it was a test trip

Looks like The older business class is better. And sitting opposite of each other I don’t like. No leg space enough. Airline style seats are still the way to go.

The new Railjet welcomes you in a new design. That seems chic, but a train should not primarily be beautiful, but comfortable.

In the old generation, I loved the business class seats. These were comfortable armchairs with footrests. There were also two individual seats for solo travelers.
Business Class in the new generation of Railjet is no longer worth the additional charge of €12 compared to a reservation in First Class. Here, dear ÖBB, you have lost a customer.

Ultimately, Business Class is a far too narrow First Class compartment with the same seats. There were paper bags in the compartment as garbage bags because there are no more garbage containers…

If the seats in the old business class were comfortable, one wonders whether someone responsible for the duration of the route from Munich central station to Verona ever sat here. The seat is hard and the position is uncomfortable.

The on-site charging option is also a nice innovation, but if you need to charge your cell phone in a hurry, you should have a cable with you, as the battery only fills up very slowly via the charging station.

If the ÖBB plans to modernize the first generation, then it would be desirable to retain the charm of the business class there. And above all, please do not dismantle the waste containers!
