I love the contrast between the two builds, I think it would be a good idea to build some sort of bunker in the nether to help her not die in the nether in the future.

Hoping Gem gets a blaze spawner, as it would mean infinite blazes on top of the rest of the spawners. Which really fits this origin! (not to mention others would probably even pay for the access due to the create mod and scary nether)

If you're going with alchemy focus now, look into Potion Rings - basically equippable trinkets with potion effects that you can activate at the push of a button, but drain your experience instead.
Slow Falling or Regeneration are pretty good candidates - SF is obvious, but the regen could work as a temporary counter to water damage.
Or Strength for that extra intimidation factor of strong-nether-creature.

Wait, I just started rewatching the series so far cause I have nothing to do, and realized the irony of this. They went into the nether, looking for a blaze, died in th nether, and is know a blaze.
