There are multiple types of this family of shrimp, the one you're talking about that hits prey doesn't create temperatures hotter than the sun, it's the one that uses its claw like an actual gun to fire shock waves at their prey and the point where their claw hits itself to create the blast temporarily creates temperatures hotter that the surface of the sun. Information about the pistol and mantis shrimps often gets mixed together despite them being quite different
