How to Play PS4 & PS5 Games on your Asus ROG Ally

Chiaki is a great alternative to this, but it uses a 3rd party app to login whereas the PS Remote Play app is official from Sony. There are several guides on Chiaki if you want to go that route. Enjoy your PS5 remote gaming folks!

I initially had problems with chiaki, so i tried psremote play via bluestacks android emulator and rewasd with a dock, they work but I still didnt love how much stuff they both install. I went back to chiaki, set it all up again and it worked!!! I have port forwarding on my router too so can play from anywhere. Chiaki can be a bit temperemental, but love how light it is. Thanks for this video though and all your stuff, love it, very helpful.

It shows you how complicated they made the PS3 games, because the Ally struggles to emulate PS3, but after watching your video, it seems to emulate PS4/PS5 much better.

Tempting to buy this to play my PS5 away from home but not sure if it'll work, I bought the steam deck specifically for that and I was disappointed I couldn't use it to play away from home. I had to be on the same network for it to work. Sony really needs to drop their own handheld gaming console.

The new handheld companion app emulates a dual shock 4 controller. I wonder if it allows you to play Playstation remote play with the built in controller.. Or maybe the devs for the app can program it to emulate the dualsense controller.

Hey Rpper. I downloaded this program but can’t get remote play app to recognize it. What am I doing wrong or need to change?

When I boot the remote play app, it even shows a picture of a controller in the bottom right. But still won’t take my inputs on the buttons on the Ally.

Any guesses?

Is there a way to map touching the touchpad to any of the keys? I tried mapping it to the select button on the Ally but it does not seem to work. Nothing I map to that button does.

Have you tried using the DS4 Windows app? That could trick remote play into thinking the built in controller is a PlayStation controller. I’m not too sure as I haven’t gotten an ally yet and I’ve got a PlayStation 4 and 5 so I’ll try it out once I get the ally.
