Who are Kara and Nate?!

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment.

We discovered the world of “travel hacking” while planning our honeymoon & became addicted ;)

So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world.

Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went back home to “normal life.” We started this channel to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with living on the road and found a new passion for capturing our travels through video. So we did everything we could to keep going.

4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time!

After ~2 years of van life, we are back to full time international traveling! And now we are in our 9TH YEAR of finding the best adventures the world has to offer :)

We are incredibly grateful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎 Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey!

Kids, you have no idea how much I love you and your adventures, as did my wife. You have taken us on adventures that we will never be able to experience on our own because of our age, and now, sadly, I must change the pronoun too, me, as my wife of 83 years passed away last year.

Our only adventures included England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland with a couple of side trips to Paris. The reason was that, although we were both American, we met and were married in England and felt most comfortable there.

Thank you so very much for the joy that you gave my wife before her passing last year. It truly helped her through her most difficult moments as a victim of Alzheimer's.

I really appreciated the de-brief. I’m your mom’s age and there was one frame during the 100 race when your mom was looking at you and I could read the concern in her eyes. I so connected with her- every mom knows just what I’m talking about. Your children never stop being your babies. You never stop worrying about them. Crap…😭😭😭

I took my two kids to Maui. One adult and 2 teenagers… for 11 days. We only spent 400 dollars and that was on frills and souvenirs for the kids! We stayed at the Grand Wailea in the (Miles!) upgraded Napua Suites. We rented a car on points. We ate on points! We flew on points! It was the best vacation! Especially because my oldest had the greatest time swimming with turtles about 20 hours a day. Never seen him so free and happy!
He passed away, shortly after we came home.😢
What a send off. I will never forget our time together. ❤️

That was so sweet to gift that couple celebrating their 15 year wedding anniversary some champagne. It was even sweeter that the flight attendants gifted it to them and y'all! My hubs and I are celebrating 17 years married 12/01. I wish we had the opportunity to have a honeymoon or even a wedding dress. Lol we were so broke! And we were expecting at the time. Literally 4 months to the day of our wedding our daughter was born ❤️ best wedding gift ever. We spent maybe $500 on our wedding. That was just food & cake. And we are still together. Just remember it's not about the "stuff" it's about your love and commitment to each other. That man is my best friend in the whole world. We LOVE watching your videos together. Keep doing what y'all are doing. We love you both ❤ so happy we happened upon your account about a year or so ago. Best and most wholesome videos. The whole family watches together. 😊

Hi Kara and Nate, I was thinking about a video idea, I know you guys don't know me but i am an Australian 13 year old who has been watching your videos with her family for a while now. Because you guys do a big ride every year like the Ragbrai and the Colorado trail. In 2025 an idea I had was in winter most likely, to do a bike ride from Perth Australia to Brisbane, or Darwin to Adelaide. Of course its just an idea and both are a very long way, but if you already have one you don't have to do this but to do this with dusty and Sarah and Rick and Bec and of course the kids! I would love for you to see Australia again after your last visit a while ago.❤❤

A tip for all of you nearing a pool and wonder if someone have peed in it. Chlorine reacts to urine, and the stronger the smell of chlorine the moore contaminated the water is. Strong smelling pool? Don't dive in.. This place was beautiful, the beach looked heavenly. Thank you for sharing guys!
