Honestly, Jack, finding out his sister was actually his mother isn’t an excuse for him attacking woman in the way he does nor does that explain why he treats women the way he does. I wonder if his dad (grandfather) beat his mom (grandmother), & that’s where he learned it from (not that’s excuse).

There is a scene in The Shining where he verbally abuses Wendy when she disturbs his writing by offering to make him a sandwich. Jack Nicholson actually wrote that scene himself and later, did an interview where he said he pulled the scene from his real life divorce when he was a “maniac.”

So his ex, Anjelica Huston is a famous actress and actually considered "hollywood royalty" her father was a famous actor and director by the name of John Huston. She didn't need to date Jack for money or fame. She had her own. There were most likely other issues at play. I have also hear stories about her father being a "maniac" as well.
