In this short video I gave a timetable for some of the immigration law changes coming in 2024:
31.1.24 Indefinite Leave to Enter for victim of domestic abuse.
The 66% increase in the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) that was announced by the Government in July of last year will be implemented on 6th February 2024. The surcharge will be increased from £624 to £1,035 per person per year for adults and from £470 to £776 per person per year for children under 18, students and their dependants, and applicants for the Youth Mobility Scheme.
11 March 2024 Carers and Senior Carers on Skilled Worker visa will no longer be able to bring dependents to the UK and care providers have to be regulated by the Care Quality Commission.
4 April 2024 the skilled worker salary increase to £38,700 will take effect.
From 11 April 2024 the income threshold for family visas will rise to £29,000.
In April 2024 the Home Office will start contacting BRP card holders whose documents will be phased out at end of 2024 to ask them to set up their UKVI online account if they don’t have one already.
