Penn & Teller Fool Us // Cameron Young // Scottish Magician // My Performance 2024

I have dreamed of being on Penn & Teller Fool Us for many years and now it is finally here!

After watching season one of the show when I was just 14 years old I have managed to perform my own act on the amazing show.All the way from Scotland.

Penn & Teller Fool Us has added a little Scottish touch by adding myself Cameron Young to the mix. I perform magic, stunts and illusions around the world all thanks to this show. If I did not watch season one I would not be here.

I think all ropes were attached to a hook in the way they can be easily unhooked, but can handle the weight of hook itself. That's way he don't pull the last rope to demonstrate it's actually attached.

Great trick, Cameron! I was just listening to Penn's Sunday School and Moxie is on there talking about you two performing at the Fringe Festival. Penn mentioned that you were on Fool Us, so I had to come see your performance. You're a great performer and I'm sure you'll kill at the festival.

It might have been more convincing if he had tied the strings to the hook in front of everyone, rather than holding them awkwardly concealed in his hand from the start.

I am quite sure I know how this was done. or at least a method to provide the same effect. And I was sure from the beginning it wouldn't fool Penn & Teller as that is so much their style... But the double screen thing was avery good idea to come up with in the recent situation and the presentation was very funny.

I dont get it. He never proved the last string. So basically it was tied the same as all the other strings. Super weird.

You should end it with proving the last string is indeed a secure knot that can hold weight or pull something heavy.

I think a highly likely method for this involves a magnet. I’ll leave it for the magician himself as to whether he leaves this comment or not.

This was dope, I love stuff with glass or razor blades or hooks or whatever (when I know the person is safe) it looks wild. Getting to teach Crimefighter is a lifelong flex 💪 Penn seemed stoked to see you.
This was great and way better than anything I could do, I don’t wanna take away from that, just wanna suggest if you’d hooked the hook (loll) to something something else at the end, piece of fruit maybe, and pulled the final line so we could see it rip through - would’ve been way more satisfying simulating danger.
If this is string that comes off separately from the colourful lines (so you’re holding both) do a second line very visible line for the fruit/hook line, maybe? Tying (probably also secondary) lines before starting would’ve been cool too. I’m just riffing here, I’m honestly not even 100% positive if that’d work how I’m imagining it. Off I go to practice very basic shuffles 😂

I don’t like Penn’s assessment of the method. He just said, “someone came to us with this”. That proves NOTHING!! He doesn’t even give a hint!

Probably the only trick that hasn’t impressed me in the least! He will perhaps become more creative in the future but there was too many possibly ways of doing this - even obvious to the lay person!
