Just purchased this saw today.

A table saw does not care how many years of experience you have, neither does an accident. Pay the thousand dollars and get a SawStop.

Two days ago, I was injured by my table saw, tomorrow I will be in surgery to probably have a finger removed that can't be saved. Thank you for this. I plan to be a customer. Any other saw is obsolete now.

Although they show the device being used on a Sawstop table saw, which is very cool, they do not mention that this safety device is only available for their Sawstop table saws. Just know that you cannot retro fit this to any other table saw. Just FYI

The Saw Stop is an innovative safety idea but it should not be considered a substitute for
proper training and the use of a blade guard. If the Saw Stop activates it's because you've done something A bit like if you run a red traffic light and believe you'll be OK because you've got a good airbag??

A hotdog is an inaccurate test because it is loaded with moisture and salt. The electrical current in the sawblade that activates the saw stop passes through a hot dog much easier than it does with a human finger.

I love the concept but is there a back up system should there be an electrical fault causing this emergency system to fail.

I don't get the negative, smarta$$ comments. This is a great innovation. It's been around for many years and it works. Internet Karen know-it-alls feel like they have to take pot shots at everyone and everything. Sheesh.

I want to see him use his hand if he’s so confident it works. Safe shop practices are the best method to protect your fingers.
