Good work for showing that dog it's ok to be in a crate bc some don't and the only time some dogs go in crates is to go to the vet so it puts a bad look on the crate for the dog

Known so many dogs like this in my life. Like my aunts dog, who just wanted to space away from the kids at time and had his little spot under the corner table between the couches. Or our old rescue dog who were pretty anxious with new people or huge crowds, giving her a safe space tucked away where she felt safe and could retreat to whenever she wanted, was such a huge deal in making her more comfortable with us. Never judge someone for having dogs that prefer to retreat to a safe space for whatever reason

That's an awesome idea. It's a 2fer. Two for one. It's a side table AND a dog crate. I've never seen one of those for sale, but apparently they're available. I've never really looked - they're probably everywhere.

I've always had large dogs and everything costs more - crates, beds, medical, etc., so I'd imagine a table/crate could be pretty pricey. I've said all of that to mention this: If you already have a large crate and want to save space, and money, it doesn't look like it'd be very hard or expensive to make your own. A piece of plywood, painted and sealed would work. It could be painted solid, striped, flowered, or with your national flag, favorite sports team's colors, etc., whatever you like. I just threw those out there for a few ideas. Marble would add a nice touch to any room but that can be pretty expensive. One thing to think about if you decide to make your own is your dog's temperament. If your dog is like most and gets rowdy upon hearing the doorbell or a knock, it'd be best to use something heavy on top of the crate. That should keep your lamp, wot-nots, etc., from flying all over the place when company comes and your dog goes bonkers in the crate.😊

Great idea. Perhaps you cld remove the crate cage door on the front and replace with curtains (split in the middle)? That way if she’s feeling overwhelmed by visitors she can feel like she’s hiding in a den but can still peak out if she wants to.

I appreciate a crate-trained pup. I sit my neighbor's dogs and it's wonderful to know they will return to their crates on command. They don't bark or fuss, and seem very comfortable in their little hidey holes. Very helpful to be able to safely crate watch dogs when I have to chaperone repair people for my neighbor when she's at work.

After 14 yrs in the penitentiary I can't wrap my head around crating a living creature especially one I love. We're products of our experiences. I've taken my dogs everywhere so they know being free. I'm not criticizing but showing a different point of view.
The crate does look a lot better as part of the room not a cage in a laundry room
