Yay I just used this method to remove a stubborn Value Village sticker on a book and it worked perfectly and easily. There’s no trace of the sticker now and the book wasn’t damaged. Thank you!

Good tip.
My go to label remover: 1) I use hair dryer to heat it up. Hot but not too hot. This usually softens the adhesive enough to peel it off; adhesive and all. next go to: (If possible (i.e, . label on plastic or glass) I put the item in the microwave for 30 seconds @ 1, 000 watts (it's faster than #1. then for tougher labels...3) I do the soak in PB Blaster or WD 40, That will get about anything off. Final option, I soak and clean with Acetone. Acetone is relentless.

When I was in the industrial chemical business we recommended Caustic Soda or Potassium Hydroxide (Lye) heated solution for metal and plastic paint removal. It's a great stripper.
-

I've never tried the alcohol soak. It's kind of a weak solvent.
-
For plastic and aluminum stripping, cleaning, and degreasing we always used Sodium Metasilicate (powdered dishwasher soap has sodium metasilicate in it as the main ingredient). Heat it to a boil for one hour.

That’s something I didn’t know. Very clever! Also - rad stereo for $6.99!

This is a pet peeve of mind. I wish stores would not put the price on the items. It's so tacky.🤦‍♀️

Thank You!!! Those stupid stickers always bug and I don't like using that goo gone or goof off stuff. Now I just have to remember to pick up some rubbing alcohol when I'm at the store. Thanks for posting this tip 👍😎👌

Hair dryers work very well on most stickers glues as well.

Thanks for the tip. I had never thought of using rubbing alcohol.

I use few drops of any kind of oil when most of the paper from the sticker is ripped off. Don't have to wait and needs a little scrub with sponge or rubbing with fingertip (if items material is delicate)

Took some effort, but this worked. I would suggest people used old cloth rag with some alcohol to remove gunk, it won't break apart like paper towels.

Awesome! I bought an expensive smart door lock and don’t you know they put one of these stickers right on the face of it. I didn’t want to scrape it off and scratch the paint, worked great.

This video is a confirmation I used the right fluid for removing the price tag of my vinyl record cover. I fist learned this when I was working in church ministry. We would record our services and make copies and label them. Sometimes the label won’t look right on the cassette so we had to remove the label. To remove the label we used lighter fluid and a pair of Q-tips. We would dip the Q-tips in lighter fluid and then apply it to the label. We would wit a few minutes and peel the label off. The label comes off smooth and clean leaving no sticky residue. Thank you for your tutorial video and confirmation I used the right thing.

Does it specifically need alcohol? Because i just ran out of alcohol

That doesn't always work. Alcohol initially to remove the paper on top. My suggestion next is to use Olive oil or Turpentine to remove the sticker residue. Comes right off with your nails intact.

I just used your method on some Ozark Kayak Oars to remove their large stickers, it worked! Thank you.

Use a plastic closer from a bread bag instead of your fingernail. It won't scratch and it will save your manicure.

Should sanitizer work instead of rubbing alcohol
