It's just dumb luck that we're not also stuck with an injured Jacob deGrom and 12 years of Carlos Correa.

Better to be decisive and commit one way or another than wishy-washy and take half-measures. Reinvest that saved money in the off-season and bring in some more pitching and another OF, and let the kids play. I'm not about right now only like Sal, you gotta prepare for now AND later.

The Mets had a solid
team, last year. They took
a chance and spent a lot
of money trying to im -
prove it and go further in
the Playoffs. It didn't work
out; so they have cut their
losses and made the de -
cision to stock their farm
system with some solid
prospects that they were
able to acquire from the
teams still in the race and
in need of pitching at this
point in the season.
Makes sense and may bear fruit in a couple of
seasons.
Meanwhile, they have had
to give up on this season
and can use the last two
months to look at their
top prospects play in the
Major Leagues ... see what they've got.
LGM❗ 🤗⚾

Sal's being a bit hypocritical here - on one hand he says that he wants to "win now"; then immediately says that Max Scherzer "is no good." So how are you supposed to win now when your co-ace is no good???

Sal Lacata is smokin some serious weed. Cohen went on a spending spree like a drunken sailor. He gambled and loss. I think it is time to cut losses. How much money is he going to piss away? Build around Nimmo, Alonso, Alvarez, McNeil, Baty, Diaz, and Lindor. I think the lineup will be better next year. Get younger and more sustainable. Let them go on a run where they’re in the post season 7 or 8 seasons in a row.

Sal has got to be the biggest crybaby analyst. How about SNY getting some analysts who give some quality input instead of that’s what I wouldn’t do.

Verlander they could've kept to build around him. That being said, I'm fine with The Mets rebuilding and bring up the kids, let them play. I'd rather see the kids play their hearts out than a washed up paid free agents
that's a shadow of themselves. Not many free agents worked out well for The Mets, build the talent from the ground up.
