Dan Barker was an evangelical preacher, true believer, until he really started reading all of it, studied the languages it was written in, and then went and researched where and when it came together. When you read it cover to cover, even check other versions, you see how nonsensical it is. Primitive blood magic and as much fabled as the greek myths. Especially when you realize a lot of the stories came from earlier myths. 👍💙💖🥰✌

The problem with the bible is not that it's words in a page. A scientific study is also words in a page.
The problem with the bible is that it is supposed to be unquestionable, immutable, permanent. While the scientific paper can be questioned, improved, disregarded or confirmed by other studies, therefore, made better with time, the contradictions in the bible are supposed to stay there forever.
As someone said, it's better having a question I cannot answer (yet) that an answer that I cannot question.

Incorrect.

Let’s look at it with no bias. There are 27 New Testament books. It’s not 1. We have 5, 800 Greek manuscripts of them total. These include accounts from multiple different people that match up. Like Matthew, mark, luke John, ect. Your telling me they all misinterpreted the same way?
Now let’s look at the evidence that the new test. Is first century and the authors we hear are the actual authors.

1st clemet letter: around 70AD-90AD it’s a letter from Christ followers in time to Christ followers in Corinth. And it mentioned both Peter and Paul. (this is an outside biblical source)

Now the 2 major historians of the time that also mention Jesus, Josephus and Tacitus, who lived shortly after the time of Jesus and referenced him and his followers in their histories.
