Hope you guys like the new car! So much work to be done, and maybe a manual swap eventually too! So far I have heard these auto boxes aren’t the best…guess we shall see when I finally take it for a drive!

I like how we all knew it was a 900 just based on the silhouette lol

A 900 turbo is the perfect choice for a project restoration looking forward to seeing it all come together 💯

Congrats on this Saab beauty!!! I've owned a '83 and '89 Saab 900 3-door (both MT, non-turbo). Great fun to drive and the best seats ever, in any car. You will enjoy it for sure. The iconic curved windscreen and the clamshell hood were never replicated in any car since. I believe this was the last Saab model that actually had wood in it (the plywood rear parcel shelf), which GM saw fit to replace with some cheap pressboard crap in the NG900. I'm happy to donate my original Bentley 900 manual to your restoration project if you want it. Let me know. Cheers.

Well the cool thing about the automatic is no one else has any content on one. Be interesting to see how one performs. I only know about manuals so refreshing change. Make it fast bro!

Wow, that's a stunner. Great purchase. A 900 for $900? That's a steal for one with such limited bodywork (and interior) needed.

Looking forward to the future videos. And I like the "next time on...auto autopsy" clip at the end.

It’s gorgeous. Good choice. I can already imagine how great that 900 will be whilst in your hands. You got the Saab all subsequent Saab’s are merely trying to hold candles to. 👍

The 900 Turbo has become highly collectible, congradulations and I'm looking forward to see what you do with it. Many, many years ago I bought my first saab 900 Turbo at 18, black, tan leather and a 5pd. Wish I still had it!

Great, an uncontaminated (by GM) REAL Saab. I have resubscribed.

I have a 1991 5 door 900 with 128, 000 km (about 80, 000 miles) 😄

Interior and body look super clean! LOVED my SPG, an 89. You will really enjoy it. Maybe try to find a set of 9000 aero rims and do the 2 tone silver on them? A whale tail SPG airflow kit and rear louvers look wicked too. So cool to see you got a CLASSIC!! Wicked cool.

Feel free to PM me if you run into issues with the car, since I had pretty much the same car and went through a lot of it.
Check the front wheelwells where the steering rod comes through, for rust near or around that opening, the same area inside the engine bay, where leaves and moisture can pile up, along with the battery drip down areas, the trunk area down in the spare tire bin where the rear whel well seams are in that bay and tend to rust due to the mudflap screws. Also pull the carpet back and check the frame rails under the doors, where I believe a brake line goes through there and can leak and corrode? Best to just empty the interior and check all the metal, but if it is in AZ, you will likely have no rust issues. Fingers crossed!!

I drove a 900 Turbo as a substitute car once while my 9000 was being serviced.
This is by no means a slow car (even despite the automatic gearbox) when the turbo kicks in.
Just remember that you should let the engine idle a couple of minutes to save the turbo before you switch it off if it has been really working. At least, that was the advice from my former Saab mechanic.
Once you get it going, the first thing to get used to is that looong bonnet, but despite the quite long wheel base it corners really well. Afterall, it was made for the twisting Swedish forest roads. Have fun!

This is a real Saab! Congratulation from Saab country Norway. No GM things on this lady!

Cool to see a 900, the 80’s Saab era is very nostalgic for me!

Congratulations. Look forward to the journey.

Hope there are not too many nasty surprises as you go.

At least it started. Not sure what happened after that so will hold my breath until your next post when more will be revealed and the journey gets underway.

I liked this video before I even ssw the reveal. Love the '88 900T!😎 Jacob & Memphis on YT are working in tandem together. Also good to see Lucas again. ETA: It even starts up right away! (So it really did run "when parked"...😀)

Congratulations, man! It looks decent, considering the price you mentioned. Can't wait for the new series of videos on it!

My first Saab, and i've had many, was a 1989 900 turbo, 2 door 5 speed. I wish I had kept that one as it was probably the nicest driving Saab I've owned. So good for you for coming across this one. Regardless of the automatic transmission you'll love driving this car.

Good to see a Classic 900T! I always liked that color with the tan leather. I had a 1981 S and 1991 S, both 3 door hatch. I actually think that I was able to haul more stuff in those than in my '06 9-3 Combi since the back seat in these folds completely flat. Here in south central Pa. I hardly see any C900's on the road anymore. The only real down-side to my cars was that the A/C was weak, especially in the '81(dealer installed option). Probably ways to up-grade that though. Have fun with it!
