I don't know why but Wylan was my favorite character

Ya know what's heavy on romance a court of thorns and roses by Sarah j Maas I read six of crows after finishing that trilogy so six of crows felt pretty light on romance to me xD

I definitely agree that the first book is WAY better and I am personally more invested in Kaz/Inej as opposed to the other couples. I also agree that the second book should have focused more on the heist/plot than the romance aspect. It made things a little more complicated then it should've been. But great review!

This definitely has to be one of my favourite reads of all time; I've read it like 5 times! I don't know...I just think it's different and I got really connected with all the characters.

It's nice to see what someone who didn't like the series too much would say about it. I love these books with all my heart but it's nice to see your side.

I don't mean to attack anyone's opinions, but I thought these books were virtually perfect. I wouldn't change a single thing, I adored every character and plot point. I adore them. Everyone's opinion is valid, but for me, these books are flawless.

I agree with the Kaz thing, I didn't understand why he doesn't deal with it, Inej leaves because he can't handle his trauma but not even once did he try addressing it and overcoming it. Like this happened when you were a kid and more than 10 years have passed and he didn't try once to get his shit together?! Are you really gonna live with it for the rest of your life, that's just completely unrealistic.

I agree with you, I always have a problem with how Leigh ends her stories. I'm not a fan of every main character getting paired up with another. Also, I for the life of me cannot remember the heist in either of the books. If other people love this, that's great for them. I do agree about the hype, I get cautious if a book is super hyped these days 😂

Maybe it should've been a trilogy? I've only read SoC and heard really divisive opinions about Crooked Kingdom. Most people seem to think that there are too many action sequences, thus you can't really focus and feel each scene in the appropriate way, you just become numb to them because you just know they're going to be all right by the end of each one. I feel like the author was afraid she didn't have enough plot material for a third book, but still wanted the action and romance expected of a fantasy YA series, so she just crammed everything in CK.

Also... I don't like Kaz. Inej could do so much better. There, I said it.

Started reading for Inej and Kaz, stayed for Wylan and Jesper

Even though I love these books I feel like literally everyone and the ancestors loves it so I kinda wanna see someone who just fucking hated it cause that would be refreshing 😂😂

This duology is objectively pretty bad, if people like it that's perfectly OK, I just wish they read more books so that they are exposed to actual great books

I always compare it to Lies of Locke Lamora (which is better) - but, I kind of forgive it because I expect less from YA....
The Gentlemen Bastards is hands down the best banter, the best scheming, the best plotting, the best everything!!! man I need the fourth

I actually loved the way things go right. I love mysteries and heist but I also have bad anxiety so I was excited without being too scared to read lol

the reason people think it’s “light on romance” is because the only couple that they cared about, kaz and inej, didn’t end up together/wasn’t the main focus of the plot. the other two couples were kind of thrown in our faces through all the drama.

Is it true that “lies of Locke lamora” features only female characters who are murder victims or prostitutes? I really like the strong female leads in Six of Crows. Without the strong female characters I would not have liked the book as much.

Halfway through and I HATE this book!
What do you mean six characters all _different_ ? 👀 * No character building at all. *Backstory ≠ character!* They are all the same character in different bodies.* Just angry teenagers who are world weary. Totally believable (NOT!)

There's the boy one. There's the girl one who is the female version of the boy one. There is the other boy one who is _radically_ different because he's ummmm... * _blonde_* I guess👀 🤷? There is the other girl one who is just a flirty talky version of all the above characters. There are the other two boy ones too I suppose.... Only distinctive because one of them is like, I dunno, maybe six months to a year younger than the other ancient 17 year olds in the book. And he's from a wealthy background🙄. _Radically_ different. (Sarcasm snorts.🙄🙄🙄) and the final boy one who ummmm.... I dunno likes weapons or something 🤷.
