I've never heard Field's Nocturnes, only Chopin's, so this is a very informative video! I can hear where Chopin got the inspiration from, but Field's style is decidedly different from Chopin's nocturnes. They are both so beautiful!

John Field's Nocturnes were what inspired Chopin to do his. This should never be titled Field vs. Chopin.

The first time I discovered Fields I immediately thought he belonged to the class of Chopin

John Field invented the Nocturne as a musical form. Later, Chopin adopted it and took it farther.

Dla mnie osobiście to utwory Chopina i nie tylko Nocturny są bardziej osobiste oraz oddające przekaz świadomości autora a nie tylko kunszt wykonania danej kompozycji. Polska, której wówczas nie było na mapach, a którą tak kochał.
