I never understood this show's bar scenes. It's like they walk into a bar, and every regular wants to somehow kill them. Even the dumbest of criminals wouldn't throw their life away over a cop coming in asking questions about an unrelated person who they have zero connection with. Even then, I think a criminal would instead inform the person that a cop was coming in asking questions about a specific subject and they would attempt to hide/mask whatever it was they did.
