CARDIOGENIC SHOCK Explained In Under 6 Minutes

Shock is hypoperfusion. Cardiogenic shock is when the heart "fails as a pump" causing shock to occur. Cardiogenic shock is one of the types of shock you learn about in EMT class.

If you only remember one sentence from this presentation it's this: "Cardiogenic Shock is the heart's fault" whether it's an MI (myocardial infarction) or a lethal ECG rhythm, the heart is under distress and is causing the body to become hypoperfused.

By the end of this video lesson, you will know everything you need to know about cardiogenic shock as an EMT/Paramedic student, look forward to seeing you succeed on your NREMT exams!

Be great,

Evan, The Paramedic Coach

Will there be any sales for the video study course? I would love to get your video program but it is tough to budget for it as a student. Awesome content!

Doesn't cardiac tomponade contribute to cardiogenic shock?

I think this might be a good place to ask the following questions of any EMTs, and hospital medical staff who might see this video and comment section:

If I were to obtain a small, plain, very legible tattoo a couple of inches above my knee on my right leg that reads, "IO B4" would you know instantly what that means? Would those small four characters right around that spot be enough to adequately inform any and all of you? What would looking at that spot for a specific reason in emergency care cause you to do?

I was awake for the IO, but people are usually unconscious and can't inform. It is something I hope I will not need again, but it could be something I need again. I have no external tattoos, but would consider one for a medical purpose. The medical info tattoo would not be lost in or near any other tattoo.

I am a real person and this is not a test for anyone. I am just testing an idea I had to determine if it is a sound idea, is all. My understanding from reading afterward is that an IO should not be performed in the same spot again.
