Erwin Rommel was a German army officer who rose to the rank of field marshal and earned fame at home and abroad for his leadership of Germany’s Afrika Korps in North Africa during World War II. Nicknamed “the Desert Fox,” Rommel also commanded German defenses against the Allied invasion of northern France. After being implicated in a plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler, he died by suicide in October 1944. #shorts #history #shortvideo #rommel #ww2

They gave Rommel props because he fought as a warrior and was skilled and did not mistreat POW's. He might have been on the wrong side of history, but he did do as he was trained to do. History can be a viewpoint depending on where you stood. Many allied commanders respected their counterparts, they did not like them, but they were warriors in kind.
