Tura Municipal board organizes mass cleaning drive

In a concerted effort to enhance urban cleanliness and foster a sense of civic responsibility, the Tura Municipal Board (TMB), under the Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0, organized a mass cleaning drive across key commercial areas of Tura on Friday.

The primary objective of this initiative extended beyond mere physical cleanliness. The Tura Municipal Board aimed to cultivate a strong sense of awareness, responsibility, and ownership among the residents and the business community of Tura by encouraging collective action towards maintaining a cleaner and healthier urban environment.

The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from various civil society organizations including the Federation of Khasi Jaintia Garo People (FKJGP), A’chik A’song Environment Enthusiast Society (AAEES), Garo Students Union (GSU), Association for Democracy and Empowerment (ADE), Central Puja Committee and the Tura Traders Union, demonstrating a unified commitment towards a cleaner and healthier environment for the town.
