Association for Women in Mathematics: AWM is a national organization that has been increasing the visibility of women in the mathematical sciences for nearly 50 years. AWM’s programs not only support those who participate in them directly but also help influence the mathematics culture more generally, so that young women entering the field today encounter an environment that is more nurturing than one of the past. Our chapter holds events on campus to bring the math community together.

Through the Science and Engineering Mentoring Outreach (SEMO) program, Santa Clara University students will participate in science education through outreach to a diverse community in the greater San Jose area. In a mutually beneficial collaboration, SCU students will provide higher education role models, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) career awareness, and soft skill development through mentorship to elementary, middle, and high school students. Students will be inspired and motivated to pursue higher
education and careers in STEM and health fields by networking with young adult
role models and being equipped with a variety of soft skills for success.

Never seen a mathematician this beautiful. Cheers. Usually they look extremely geeky.
