One of the things I love about this game is how much it builds upon the expectations of the previous game, only to do a 180. Chiaki can be comparable to Kyoko, both are quiet, thoughtful, analytical, and always do what they can to help you uncover the truth by the end of the trial. Nagito can be comparable to Byakuya, both are reclusive, intelligent, scheming, and have manipulated you into believing their the culprit due to their selfish needs. They're also the two you interact most with outside of Free Time and hold the most impact on the narrative from your perspective. And given that Chiaki and Nagito survive so many cases, it isn't crazy to think that they would be among the last to survive as were Kyoko and Nagito. But then they destroy all of those expectations by having Chiaki kill Nagito... There are other examples of this game messing with player expectations and poking fun and improving upon elements of the original, but this one case is my favorite of those "screw you"s that the game does. Bravo DanganRonpa 2, you brilliant sadistic piece of shit...
