You made me laugh pretty good in this video and brought back some of good memories from my time in Israel!  Yes I did eat hummus there (and I still do in Japan), but my most favorite was falafel.

Hananya is a Christian Israeli, not a Jew. Take into consideration when viewing his many videos, that his perspective and opinions are not that of a Jew.

I've had the pleasure to be 2 times in Israel and I agree with everything you've said, and I've even learned how to make Hummus <3 <3

I've noticed that the Israeli society is among the most outstanding and accepting society. Your army phoned civilians in Gaza and asked them to leave the area. They go to great lengths to save people. Israels morals are great and they are very accepting of different people. In America we still have a lot of Anti gay people and people who follow ideas like that. But in Israeli culture, I have never seen a person be quick to judge people on their sexuality. I'm sure that there is some people who don't agree with it but that ratio is far less than americas.

You mentioned something about BBQ-ing. Here in South Africa we love to do it too. We call it "Braai" which literally means to grill/roast. We tend to do it at people's birthdays(mostly for people older than 20) and on holidays as well as on some weekend occasions where you what to hang out with friends. One more thing: Many of my people love to watch Ragbi and on big Ragbi events people sometimes block the roads around suburban areas and they braai on the streets...

I went to Israel for the first time in August. I LOVE Israel and can't wait to go back! (My profile pic is actually from the Sea of Galilee). I went with a group I am a part of, Christians United for Israel. They take a group of pro-Israel college student activists to Israel every year. It was amazing...I honestly hope to live there one day. One thing I notice about the culture that is different from where I live (America) is that many Israelis use sarcasm especially dry sarcasm often. Like you said hummus! Hummus is everywhere!! I think I ate hummus in every meal. You guys also pronounce hummus differently than us Westerners do. If you don't mind me asking, what city in Israel do you live? You are so blessed to live in Israel. I just found your videos, and I really like them! I subscribed. :)

Hi Hananya, all your videos are great, because they are funny and candid.Israelis are friendly bunch of ppl from my experience in Israel recently. In the old city of Jerusalem, I tried to be friendly back by greeting them like 'Shabbat Shalom' to Jews on a Shabbat. However, I didnt quite understand their responses, one asked me if I were'nt a tourist (which was pretty obvious to him I was one) and another IDF at the metal detector looked so surprised. Is it not right for me to greet them because I am not a Jew? I'm a christian so I know what Sabbath law is all about. Another thing is that an IDF called me Miss so I thought that one is universal. :D Just to let you know barbecue is a fav pastime for ppl in my country, Singapore and also in Australia.

Lived there 4 years, loved it.
2 Major Gaza wars, great beaches, love the "belegahn" craziness, things seem to go into at times.
No such thing as "polite", just forwardness but with a true kind heart.
Most americans cannot handle it.
A 9 day tour is NOT reality in Israel!
Live there, know the people, live life there and then have a real opinion!
I'de go back "home there" in a NY minute!
Oh yes, the shwarma & hummus with snowball and Pita,
On the beach in Ashqelon...
