I'm just 23 and I first heard this song through a videogame, GTA 4.
I was astonished. I had always been a big fan of Phil and I recognised his voice immediately.
The song suited the game atmosphere so well. I've become a new Genesis fan since then so I'm getting to know their whole discography. What a masterpiece❤

Phil and Genesis are at their best here I think. The atmosphere and composition plus his diabolical 'laughing' really capture what the song is about. So very dark, predatory yet he is innocent too -being pulled into this sordid world. Incredible stuff. Tonight, tonight, tonight is another gem. His solo work is very commercial but with Genesis, he is very raw. and real He unleashes his dark side through his vocals, lyrics and their melodies are just... haunting. The guy on keyboards is a legend.

This is one of those songs that you completely forget about but when you hear it it brings back fond memories. It's not a usual radio rotation song so it's rare that you do hear it at all. Just caught it in the wilds of local radio and came here immediately to hear it again.
