Minivans may have lost favor in North America and Europe, but they remain popular in Asia, particularly Japan. The Toyota Alphard and Vellfire twins are a major figure in the large minivan segment, and they recently received a completely new fourth generation, after the release of the mechanically comparable Lexus LM.

Despite having a completely new body, the new Alphard and Vellfire are readily identifiable. The common profile has more sculpted fenders and a new Z-shaped line below the windows, which is the new generation's highlight. The enormous grilles at the front have distinct designs that distinguish the twins.
