I don't want to consider him under GOAT status, but you can't ignore the level of competition he has raced against. I don't think we've seen so many riders consistently able to ride up front and challenge for wins as we do now. The racing is so tight in this generation and yet he is still able to keep pulling it off.

I Think He is Honestly one of the Best Athletes Ever in American Sports. Period. I put him up with MJ, and LeBron, and Derek Jeter, Lance Armstrong, Michael Phelps., ETC . He needs to be considered for 1 of the best all around Athletes Ever, Because we all know the Endurance, strength, and the Talent. ALONG WITH the absolute Beating they take on a weekly basis. I'd say he may even have a step on all the rest. JMHO, he is a living legend, and we still get the chance to watch Greatness. Are we forgetting that Star Racing and Yamaha have played a major roll in much of Eli's recent success. Sure other riders have similar equipment and set ups. But I feel the team and bike, is allowing him to dominate the field again this year. I can't remember the last time anyone raced at such a high level, without wrecking or getting hurt for this long? This sport is brutal. I really don't see anyone else riding at his level consistently. He will win the 450 class again this year.

If Eli’s heart, body, and his family supported it… I do believe he can make a run at the King given the way he’s rode the last two years. This may or may not be the fastest Eli we’ve seen, but this is the best Eli. I think he can push it until his mid 30’s if he really wants. Along with some of the other guys too.
