ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Sir Jony's work and patents have played a pivotal role in shaping Apple's successes over the last two decades. Jony has led Apple's design team since 1996. He holds over 5,000 patents and has been recognized with numerous design awards, including the Design Museum London’s first Designer of the Year in 2003, the Design and Art Direction (D&AD) President’s Award in 2005 and the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum’s Product Design Award in 2007. Jony is Apple Inc.'s Chief Design Officer, reporting to CEO Tim Cook. He is a native of London, a graduate of Newcastle Polytechnic and holder of honorary doctorates from the Royal College of Art and Northumbria University as well as the Rhode Island School of Design.

ABOUT THE PROFESSOR HAWKING FELLOWSHIP:
The Professor Hawking Fellowship was founded by the Cambridge Union Society in 2017 and named in honour of Professor Stephen Hawking. The Fellowship is awarded to an individual who is distinguished in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and who has made a historic and/or significant contribution to social discourse in the STEM fields. This year, it was Sir Jony Ive who was to receive the Fellowship.

Not trying to be negative here, but aren't there many great individuals out there who have a great balance of being artistic + technical + charismatic + productive? Where are those guys? Jony Ive is very good. At the same time, there are many non-European, non-white Jony Ives hiding in plain sight whom nobody laid eyes on. Imagine if they had been discovered. What a wonderful world that would be.

Cook is making movies, entertainment, even apple events are entertainment now, no more following idea of "great tools to help us"(focus on extérieur apple as companies) no more on human, help or care !
