bag or container made of skin, goatskin.
ασκητική [asκitiκí]:
ascetic way of life, asceticism, philosophy or theory of asceticism.
via egnatia:
road constructed by the Romans in the 2nd century BC, starting at Dyrrachium, running through the Balkans all the way to Byzantium.
A spiritual excavation over the buried ruins of the ancient Egnatia road is attempted through "Askitiki", tracking down the traces of those who wandered through the centuries between East and West.
The songs capture the thoughts, the longings and the hopes of those who even today seek their way in the egnatial streets of the world.
