Cena is a different kind of performer and wants to thank everyone. The announcement was so everyone enjoys the last year. Batista seems more private and wanted to end his career they way he wanted. Best to both

I think John feels the same way as Batista does, but a part of him wants to give the fans a chance to say goodbye as he would feel guilty if he didn't give them that chance.

No matter how they end their careers. They gave us unforgetable memories which we will show our kids. Thanks for everything

Nothing wrong with going out either way. Batista had a far more traditional wrestling retirement, compared to what Cena is going to do next year. Neither is wrong and it is entirely about preference.

I can respect that Batista feels like his ending was perfect in his eyes and doesn't want to ruin it. Cena is setting up his perfect ending the way he wants it. Hopefully it works out the way he envisions it and corporate politics doesn't f-k it up.

Here’s the best comparison Batista is like Tim Duncan. Loves the sport and appreciates the fans but we didn’t know when he would be done.
Cena is like Kobe loves the fans and the sport and gives all the credit to the fans. He wants them to know that it’s coming to an end and for one more time where going on a ride I respect both perspectives

Cena is a different breed, he wants to thank all the fans personally ❤

John was the face of the company for a very long time. He's also a company man through and through. I'm guessing that's why he wanted to do the 'tour'.

Love hearing Dave talk about wrestling. He's a humble dude. He knows that it was wrestling that helped him become the global superstar he is today.
After WM 21, Big Dave and John went on to become the faces of the company and the Ruthless Aggression era. Clearly John went on to become the poster child but Batista was definitely a close second in 2006-2009. I remember as a kid whenever I'd see WWE merch I'd always see either Dave or Cena on the cover of that merch.
Great to see both Big Dave and John make it outside of wrestling. Cena 5 years from now has the potential to be on the same level as Dave is in Hollywood.
Really hoping both he and John get inducted in the same year. It would be a great send off and closing of the careers to the two faces of the Ruthless Aggression era.

The WWE and Cena will make money despite themselves and it is a great marketing tool while at the same time thanking the fans.

I was NEVER a Cena fan. But theres no denying he carried that place for years.

John is a people pleaser! Dave is a quiet guy! Both are legends of wrestling and both went out on their own terms.

What Cena has accomplished makes him the GOAT, and while it was a moniker for the rock, Cena has always been the real people's champion. He wants to bow out his way and he deserves that.

While Batista could've done that, I think his ending was perfect.
