Did you know KITT from Knight Rider wasn't all that super? Knight Rider debuted in 1982 on television all over. It featured a crime fighting computer controlled car, well before self-driving and AI was even a thing. It was based on a 1982 Pontiac Trans Am. So you'd think it would be high powered and fast, right? Unfortunately with deregulation from the government the firebird had lost much of its oomph and with it the Trans Am. Meaning the car only made 145 horsepower with a lackluster 150 mph top speed. A paltry number to say the least. Meaning as the supercar KITT was little more than a Super Flop.
