I was walking through a store parking lot and heard the scanner from a distance. I thought it couldn't be, and then I heard the scanner again. I had to look around, and someone had KITT at the other side of the lot. I walked up to him and told him how cool it was that he had KITT. He then showed me that he could change the plastic cover of the red scanner to yellow, and then the scanner sound changed to the distinctive KARR sound.

I remember my mother's '88 6000 SE with a 2.8 V6 sounded similar in first gear around 3800-4000 rpm. (minus the scanner 😊). The transmission gave that iconic turbine sound. I loved Knight Rider as a kid.
