Honestly I got disheartened when I saw Matt deadlift 765, I was relatively new to lifting and that was the first video of him that I had seen and I thought to myself "wtf?", "Im so weak i cant even do half that weight". But after a while I got to learn more about him and how when he started he wasn't that strong either and it motivated me.

Dude that was one of the most hearting thing I've heard in A LONG TIME. I didn't get serious with lifting until I was 29 and I'm 30 now and have felt really disheartened thinking even though I have made great gains, I'll never reach anything substantial. This one minute long video has actually given me hope. Thanks bro!

Just started taking powerlifting seriously. Definitely discouraging at times to see young people who warm up with your max but Im in love with the process and I think that’s what’s the most important thing. Good luck to everyone hitting them PRs!

New lifters are blessed and cursed at the same time with social media. They have access to so much information but can easily get body dysmorphia and depression from not reaching their goals when they see this type of stuff.

I started my lifting journey at age 33. Not quite two years later and I'm still making steady gains. Was definitely worried that starting this late my progress would be disappointing, but I'm happy with how far I've come. No one should let age stop you from lifting.

Matt's channel is the fitness advice that this generation needs.

I like this sentiment. I'm turning 31 next month and I just started training specifically for powerlifting last year. You can add kilos if you put in the work.

As a runner I got into running too late as a junior in high school. I’d be fit and pretty good but I’d never run the times I set out for myself. However I’ve seen 40 y/o’s set themselves long term goals and achieve them as a lifter

I started lifting at 15 and am about to be 31. The past year has been the best year of my life in terms of making strength gains.

Age is a factor for sure but when you get your training, mindset, diet etc right, you’re going to make gains no matter what your age is.

Love the positive mindset no matter what strength level you reach lifting is just a awesome sport and for me therapy. I’m 25 and my goal for 30 is bench 315 and squat over 400. Prob shooting low but rather surprise myself.

Old man strength is no joke. I am in my 30 now and I feel stronger than I did playing football in my youth

Really digging this kind of content.
Mixing positive message and short form.

Also strength is one of the last tp go from father time. There are literal senior citizens going into powerlifting

I started 4 months ago I’m 22 these thoughts go through my head a lot but 10 years from now I’ll be 32 and probably in my prime that keeps me going

Remember guys, it's the consistent effort and not where you start and where you end.

As a 29 year old bro lifter I needed to hear this.

After not making progress for over 3 years, I was not in a good place with my lifting. Now (with Mr Vena as my coach), I've already made more progress in just a few weeks than i made in the previous 5 years. Going to be 40 in December and i can't wait to see what the next few years bring.

As a side note, i didn't get serious about lifting until 2017 when I was 33
