Wilson: Tell her you like her earrings, her shoes .
House : Nice earrings
*literally one second later*
House: Nice shoes

Wilson's smile radiated so much happiness as if the flower were for him.

Hugh's acting in this scene... his awkwardness, the nervous glances, the mix of pity and sympathy in his eyes when he's looking at Cameron... just **chef's kiss**

House: ... I'm not great looking ...
Hugh Laurie during the table read: o_o

My heart skipped a beat when he pulled the flowers out of the fridge. Despite his cynicism about the date and why she wanted him, even though he may have been right, he did make an effort. This was probably doomed to failure either way, but it would have turned into a really interesting story had she simply chosen to ask him about what wines he liked and what movies he hated.

The first time i saw this scene i thought this was just House being rude and mean for the sake of it. But re-watching it now i can tell that this is just House trying to help her. House very rarely does something to hurt someone for the sake of it (it does happen, not gonna lie) and i don't think he meant to hurt her here.

I will never get over how absolutely incredibly ridiculously beautiful Cameron is.

House is 100% right about her. She wants a project.

I feel that if Cameron really "loved" House, she wouldn't have been driven away that easily by his remark at the end. It was just House being regular old House. It probably struck something inside her that she knew was true, which is why it affected her so much; if she really did love him, that statement would mean absolutely nothing.

I don’t know if House’s analysis of Cameron was actually as brilliant as a lot of people say, I think there was certainly truth to what he said but he was completely writing off the possibility that she genuinely liked him for him because the idea of that emotional connection was uncomfortable for him.

The tragedy of this entire scene is that House never tells Cameron how he feels. He tells her what he THINKS about her. He thinks she only wants to fix him and thinks she couldn't ever love him. The reality is that he FEELS like he's not good enough for her, or good for her in general. He feels uncomfortable and awkward around her. Cameron is broken, yes, but in the end she really did have feelings for House, and she did love him. In her mind, I believe she thought that she and House were broken in the same way, and that maybe their love could put them back together. House just wasn't able to let her in or let her get close enough for them to attempt to make a relationship work, and he pushed her away.

This scene shows just how deep House can see to anyone's psychology, even though many people consider him an antisocial individual. He can see that Cameron just sees him as a bird whose wings had been broken for a long time and now refuses to fly again. She thought she could help him by showing him compassion and understanding. She thought she could heal his pain inside.
But she was wrong. House knows just how miserable his life has been until this point. He is a man who came to learn, through hardships and difficulties, just what the worst side of a human being is. As a result, he developed a snarky and distrustful mask, so that he could hide his true face, the face of a man who wishes his life was different and having many reliable friends, as well as a true family. But he knows that this is impossible at this point.
He didn't want Cameron to remind him through her actions just how "broken" he was. He came to deal with it through his past. He rather prefers dealing with his problems by himself. That's why he tells Cameron that the thing between them couldn't possibly work out. He wants to be honest to himself and to show Cameron what she really feels about him.

Kudos to the the writers. House remains one of my all time favourite TV series. Curse be to Netflix for dropping this masterpiece.
