His grandfather, Clifton Smith, says the river that once served as a road during the winter is now too thin and dangerous to ride.

Grave markers of early Alaskan settlers were tipping over fifty years ago because the permafrost that they were anchored in was melting. Now, buildings’ foundations are being compromised.

Yeah maybe if the permafrost melts and it gets warmer maybe you'll have more than one growing season in Alaska and you won't freeze to death. Alaska has been a frozen tundra for thousands and thousands of years but once was a climate similar to a Brazilian Rainforest so climate change is cyclical based on planetary conditions over millions of years
