In this video we are going to see how to parent and unparent objects in Blender.
In both Blender and Unity you can establish a hierarchical relationship between objects in the scene, in Blender this is reflected in the Outliner while in Unity we see it in the Hierarchy window. If we have an object that is parented to a second object called parent, when the parent object is transformed, meaning by transformation the state of position, rotation and scale or a change in those properties, that transformation also applies to the child object since the properties defined in this one are calculated relative to the parent.

Important to note that CTL P and ALT P ONLY work if your mouse is in the viewport. You can't do this operation if your mouse is still in the Outliner if you've selected the object there

Thanks a lot. Brother. I would have been stuck for hour on how to de-parent mesh from bone. Previously mesh was rotated with bone but not now. Thanks!

i have a question, i made a project that i exported to be used on something else but when i imported it into my other project it lost all its parenting so i had to parent everything again, how do i fix that?

for some reason, some of my models seem to have "parented" together, they move as one even though I never parented them. No matter how many times I "clear parent" it stays the same. Quite annoying

Select child objects and select parent object at last and follow this
Parent : CTRL+P > Object(Keep Transform)
Unparent: ALT+P > Clear & keep transformation

WOW WOW WOW you were right! Such a silly and simple mistake. I'm writing it here because I couldn't find it anywhere.

IF YOU HAVE A GROUP OF OBJECTS AND SOME MODIFIERS ARE LINKED TO THE CHILDREN, WHEN TRANSFORMING OR MOVING THEM, CHECK THE LINK TO THE MAIN OBJECT (Target). IF YOU CHANGE SOMETHING, YOUR TRANSFORMATION WILL NOT TAKE PLACE.

@GameDev how did you know??? Geez! you're awesome. Thank you again, and I was looking for the solution for DAYZZZZ, such a waste.
